Samsung Expands Presence in India's Room Air Conditioner Market

India: Samsung India has reported a two-fold increase in sales within the room air conditioner segment for the March quarter of 2025, reaching an estimated market share of 10 percent. The company has re-entered the segment with the launch of 19 models under its BESPOKE AI WindFree series, which includes artificial intelligence-enabled features designed to offer customised cooling options. According to Samsung, this market share is nearly double compared to the same quarter in the previous year.
Company officials stated that they anticipate continued growth across various sales channels and regions. Contributing factors include rising disposable income, increased aspirations among consumers, and the ongoing electrification of smaller towns with fewer power outages. Samsung estimates that the room air conditioner market in India is likely to grow between 20 to 25 percent this year and indicated that the company’s performance is currently exceeding the industry growth rate.
