Samsung Electronics Completes Acquisition of FläktGroup

SOUTH KOREA: Samsung Electronics announced that it has finalized the acquisition of FläktGroup, Europe’s largest HVAC manufacturer. With this acquisition, Samsung intends to leverage FläktGroup’s extensive production and sales infrastructure to enhance research and development capabilities, strengthen its supply chain, and progressively integrate products and services to generate synergies across operations.

FläktGroup’s subsidiaries, including Woods Air Movement (ventilation and fire safety systems), SEMCO (air handling and flow solutions), and SE-Elektronic (advanced automation systems), will also become part of Samsung Electronics. Despite the ownership change, FläktGroup will retain its brand name, management, workforce, and facilities, operating as an independent subsidiary to preserve its technical expertise and brand heritage.

Through this acquisition, Samsung aims to position its HVAC business as a key growth driver within the Device eXperience (DX) Division, with ongoing investments planned in commercial HVAC solutions and high-growth areas such as AI data centers.

As demand for large-scale air conditioning systems continues to rise across Korea, North America, and Europe, covering sectors such as manufacturing, commercial complexes, marine, healthcare, and biopharmaceutical industries, Samsung plans to build a stronger regional supply network and enhance after-sales service capabilities.

This move follows Samsung’s joint venture with Lennox in 2024, established to expand its foothold in the North American HVAC market. The acquisition of FläktGroup is expected to further reinforce Samsung’s global position, combining FläktGroup’s advanced HVAC technologies with Samsung’s innovation in building management systems such as SmartThings Pro and IoT. Together, these integrations will open new opportunities in smart building solutions and energy-efficient technologies worldwide.
