U.S.: Noritz and Nihon Itomic Partner to Launch CO₂ Heat Pump Water Heaters in North America as the two companies join forces to expand decarbonization and electrification initiatives in the region. Building on their July 2025 collaboration in Japan for a commercial hybrid water heating system, Nihon Itomic will lead product development while Noritz’s RB Corporation in Japan will handle manufacturing. NORITZ AMERICA CORPORATION, based in Fountain Valley, California, will manage sales and distribution across North America, targeting growing demand for eco-friendly and energy-efficient water heating solutions.
The partnership focuses on CO₂ refrigerant-based heat pump water heaters, which significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional fossil fuel systems and integrate with renewable energy sources. By combining Nihon Itomic’s electric and CO₂ heat pump expertise with Noritz’s proven manufacturing capabilities, the companies aim to accelerate the transition to a decarbonized society while delivering sustainable, comfortable water heating solutions for commercial applications in North America.
