Nigeria/Saudi Arabia: Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have held discussions to expand bilateral cooperation in housing development, construction technology and local building materials manufacturing, during meetings on the sidelines of the 2026 Real Estate Future Forum in Riyadh. Nigeria’s Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, to explore collaboration aimed at attracting private investment and supporting large-scale housing delivery in Nigeria.
During the talks, Nigeria outlined its Renewed Hope Housing Programme, which seeks to increase housing supply across income groups through public-private partnerships, alongside an initiative to develop building materials manufacturing hubs to support local production and reduce construction costs. Saudi Arabia indicated interest in strengthening institutional cooperation and facilitating engagement between Nigerian agencies and Saudi developers, manufacturers and financiers. Both sides noted shared objectives in housing delivery, construction innovation and local manufacturing, and agreed to continue discussions to identify specific investment opportunities and project-level partnerships in Nigeria.
