Denmark: NCC has been awarded a contract by Vestforbrænding to carry out an expansion of the district heating network in Herlev, near Copenhagen. The agreement forms part of a wider civil engineering programme in Denmark and has an order value of approximately 700 million Swedish kronor (USD 66.5 million). NCC will act as the turnkey contractor for the project.
Under the contract, NCC will undertake civil engineering works, install district heating pipelines and carry out associated metalworks. The project includes the installation of around 22 kilometres of main distribution pipes and 24 kilometres of secondary distribution pipes, which are intended to supply district heating to approximately 1,700 households in Herlev. The Herlev expansion is one of six contracts under Vestforbrænding’s Värmeplan 2030 programme, which aims to supply district heating to a total of 39,000 households.
