Naked Energy Expands Operations into Spain and Portugal

Britain: British solar technology company Naked Energy has announced its expansion into Spain and Portugal as part of its broader international growth strategy. The company has appointed Luis Guajardo, an industrial engineer with over 15 years of experience in the water, industrial, and energy sectors, as Head of Business Development for Iberia. Naked Energy’s patented Virtu range includes the VirtuHOT, which generates clean heat up to 120°C, and the VirtuPVT, which combines electricity and heat generation up to 75°C. Both have received TUV Rheinland certification, with the latter being the first evacuated PVT collector in the world to achieve this recognition.

The move aligns with the growing demand for decentralised, grid-independent energy in Iberia, following recent power blackouts and ongoing efforts to decarbonise heat use in the region. Supported by an investment of GBP 17 million (USD 21.5 million / EUR 20 million) from Barclays and E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions, Naked Energy plans to strengthen its footprint across Europe through strategic collaborations and reference installations. The company will showcase its Virtu product line at the Genera & Matelec 2025 trade show in Madrid.
