PAKISTAN: In a major advancement for Pakistan's industrial sector, Modern Ceramics Sanitary Ware (Pvt) Limited, a prominent Chinese company, is set to invest over US$ 28.7 million in Punjab. This development was announced following a meeting between the company's delegation and the leadership of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) at PBIT headquarters, where they discussed plans to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Allama Iqbal Industrial City (AIIC). The new facility aims to meet the rising domestic demand for sanitary ware while positioning Pakistan as a key exporter of premium sanitary products to major markets across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond. This investment is anticipated to create over 500 jobs, stimulating local economic growth, and will play a critical role in import substitution. By decreasing reliance on imported sanitary ware, Pakistan stands to save millions in foreign exchange, thereby strengthening its trade balance. The Chairman of PBIT assured the delegation of full support, emphasizing PBIT’s commitment to facilitating the smooth establishment of the production unit through its dedicated facilitation wing. This initiative represents a significant step forward in boosting Punjab's industrial capacity and enhancing Pakistan's presence in global export markets.
