Mitsubishi Electric Acquires Crystal Air to Strengthen European Data Center Services
Ireland: Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced the acquisition of Crystal Air Holdings Limited, an air-conditioning installation and maintenance company based in Kildare, Ireland. Through its subsidiary, Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V., the agreement to acquire all shares of Crystal Air was finalized on December 18.
The acquisition enables Mitsubishi Electric to leverage Crystal Air’s extensive European business network and expertise in installation and maintenance to meet the rising demand for IT Cooling in data centers across Europe. By integrating Crystal Air's capabilities with its own product lineup, Mitsubishi Electric aims to provide a comprehensive one-stop service offering, covering product sales, installation, operation, maintenance, and renewal of air-conditioning systems.
This strategic move aligns with Mitsubishi Electric's global growth strategy, focusing on energy-efficient solutions and low-GWP refrigerants in response to the increasing demand for replacing fossil fuel-based systems. With Europe's booming data center construction driven by growing data transmission needs, IoT, high-resolution video streaming, and generative AI technology, Mitsubishi Electric aims to enhance its position in the European market.
