Switzerland: As part of a management buyout, 30 Micasa and Micasa Home stores will be taken over by the current leadership team, with support from Rethink. From September 1, 2025, the newly founded Micasa AG will assume control, ensuring that all employees and apprentices retain their jobs. Warranties and services for Micasa products will remain valid under the new ownership. Meanwhile, efforts to find a nationwide buyer for Do it + Garden were unsuccessful, leading to the closure of 31 locations by June 2025. However, two stores in Carouge and Nyon will be transferred to OBI, and discussions are ongoing for potential local acquisitions. The closures will impact 466 employees, with a Migros social plan in place to provide support, including alternative job placements and apprenticeships.

Additionally, Migros Cooperative Zurich will not renew its franchise agreement with Alnatura Germany, leading to the eventual closure of 25 Alnatura organic supermarkets in German-speaking Switzerland. Migros will instead focus on its own sales channels for organic products, maintaining an unchanged selection of 2,400 Alnatura products in Migros stores and online. The franchisor, Alnatura, is evaluating alternative scenarios for store operations and will announce its decision in the first half of 2025. These changes align with Migros' strategic transformation plan, announced in February 2024, which focuses on strengthening its core business and enhancing customer offerings.
