Midea Group Expands Operations with New Factory in Brazil
Brazil: Midea Group has commenced construction of a new 73,000 sqm manufacturing plant in Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais, as part of its global expansion strategy targeting strategic markets like Brazil. The facility, with an investment of approximately R$600 million (USD 122 million), is expected to produce 1.3 million products annually. The plant will focus on 2-Door Frost-Free refrigerators, with production set to begin in July 2024 and products available by the third quarter. Midea already operates two factories in Brazil through its joint venture with Carrier, producing residential and commercial air conditioning systems and microwaves.
