Midea Building Technologies and Keppel Ltd. Partner to Develop AI-Enabled Energy-Efficient Cooling Solutions Across Asia

China: Midea Building Technologies, a unit of Midea Group, has entered a non-exclusive strategic collaboration with Keppel Ltd. to co-develop AI-enabled, energy-efficient modular cooling systems across Asia, combining MBT’s HVAC manufacturing and intelligent building systems with Keppel’s Cooling-as-a-Service and digital optimisation capabilities. The solution will feature pre-fabricated, scalable cooling modules connected to Keppel’s Operations Nerve Centre powered by its Infrastructure Intelligence platform, enabling real-time monitoring, advanced analytics, and remote management. Supported by IoT sensors and smart equipment, the systems aim to improve operational reliability, enhance energy efficiency, and reduce lifecycle carbon emissions across sectors including data centres, industrial parks, healthcare, aviation, and integrated developments. As part of the collaboration, both companies will establish an AI-first Centre of Excellence to drive engineering, standardisation, and replication, while Midea Group, ranked 246 in the 2025 Fortune Global 500, reported over USD 64.3 billion in revenue in 2025 with more than 190,000 employees, 65 production centres, and 41 innovation centres globally.
