Indonesia: LG Electronics has secured a contract to provide thermal management systems for a new AI data centre under construction in Jakarta, Indonesia. The company will deliver a range of solutions, including oil-free centrifugal chillers with low-GWP refrigerant, computer room air handlers, air handling units, computer room air conditioners and fan wall units. A customised building management system will also be installed to integrate and centrally control all components. The project is being developed by LG Sinarmas Technology Solutions, a joint venture between LG CNS and Indonesia’s Sinar Mas Group, and is scheduled to begin operations in the second half of 2026.
As part of its broader B2B growth strategy, LG aims to increase annual chiller sales to 720 million USD and more than triple global orders for data centre cooling systems within two years. The Jakarta project marks a significant step in this plan, with the company positioning its energy-efficient technologies to support the growing demand for data centre infrastructure in Asia.
