UAE: LG Electronics is strengthening its business domain in the Middle East through expanded B2G transactions, announcing a strategic partnership with Expo City Dubai for the construction of a smart city. The agreement builds on discussions from the Korea-UAE business roundtable focused on AI technologies, application services, and enhanced cooperation in developing AI and energy infrastructure. Expo City Dubai is developing a 3.5-square-kilometer smart city on the former 2020 Dubai Expo site, designed to accommodate approximately 35,000 residents. As a space package provider, LG Electronics will supply advanced HVAC solutions gaining attention with the rise of AI data centers alongside AI Home Hub-based smart home solutions.
LG Electronics previously delivered high-brightness LED signage for the 2020 Dubai Expo and later secured a contract to supply built-in appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, and ovens, to 3,000 households in the smart city project. The company continues to expand its presence in the Middle East, operating a UAE subsidiary since 1996 and maintaining a regional headquarters overseeing 75 countries across the Middle East and Africa. In September, LG Electronics also signed an agreement to supply cooling solutions for the Middle East’s largest Net Zero AI data center, currently under construction in Oxagon, Neom City, Saudi Arabia.
