India: LG Electronics will start exporting premium home appliances from India to the US and Europe, leveraging bilateral trade agreements and reduced US tariffs, with products including side-by-side and large-capacity top freezer refrigerators manufactured at its Pune plant. The company aims to double export contribution to 14% of total sales next fiscal, expanding beyond its current entry- and mid-segment exports to Africa, the Middle East and other Asian markets. Exports to the US and Europe will broaden further once its upcoming Sri City factory becomes operational around October. Hong Ju Jeon, Managing Director and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of LG Electronics India, said tariff rationalization and the third manufacturing plant, expected to be operational by year-end, will strengthen India’s role as a global production hub serving both domestic and export markets.
