LG Electronics India to Raise AC Prices by 5–7% from October 2026

India: LG Electronics India will increase air conditioner prices by 5–7% from 1 October 2026, citing higher commodity prices, logistics and energy costs, and foreign exchange movements ahead of the second leg of festive sales. Voltas, Havells (LLOYD), Godrej Appliances and Bosch Home (Hitachi) have also announced 5–8% increases for RAC units, citing geopolitical developments, commodity prices, US dollar appreciation against the rupee and the transition to enhanced BEE energy-efficiency standards. The revised BEE star-rating system took effect on 1 January 2026, alongside new temperature standardisation. India’s RAC industry is estimated at 12–12.5 million units annually, with nearly 10 companies competing in the market.
