India: LG Electronics India announced that it sold over one million air conditioners in the first quarter of 2026, marking its fastest-ever start to a summer season and reinforcing its leadership in India’s competitive AC market. The milestone was driven by its early launch of BEE star-rated compliant ACs, ensuring a smooth transition to energy-efficient products, along with strong consumer engagement from its marketing campaign during the ICC World Cup. Managing Director Hong Ju Jeon highlighted the achievement as a reflection of consumer trust and strategic importance of India, while Sanjay Chitkara noted plans to expand the Sri City facility in Andhra Pradesh and anticipate stronger demand in Q2, supported by GST cuts on ACs.
