LG Electronics Begins Local Production of Air Handling Units in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia: LG Electronics has commenced mass production of air handling units (AHUs) at its manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, marking the company’s first “Made in Saudi” product line. The move enables LG to directly participate in government-led infrastructure projects and strengthens its position in the Middle Eastern heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) market. The locally produced AHUs, which regulate temperature, humidity and air quality in large buildings and industrial facilities, will operate alongside LG’s commercial HVAC systems, including Multi V and chillers. 

The initiative supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan to localise manufacturing and enhance industrial collaboration. By producing AHUs domestically, LG aims to reduce tariffs, lower logistics costs and qualify for government procurement opportunities. The company has partnered with Saudi Arabia’s Shaker Group since 1995, expanding its portfolio from residential and commercial HVAC systems to industrial solutions. LG plans to use Saudi Arabia as a regional production and technology hub for air solutions across the Middle East, supported by its 12 global manufacturing bases and ongoing R&D collaborations in South Korea, the United States, Europe and India.
