LG appoints new Chief Executive Officer for 2026

South Korea: LG Electronics has announced that Lyu Jae-cheol will become Chief Executive Officer from 1 December. He has been leading the Home Appliance Solution Company, where he oversaw growth through expanded B2B operations, subscription-based services and direct-to-consumer models. In his new role, he will work to extend the company’s home appliance capabilities across the wider organisation to support long-term competitiveness and growth.
Mr Lyu joined the company, then known as Goldstar, in 1989 as a researcher and has spent much of his career in home appliance R&D. Since 2021, he has headed the division now known as the Home Appliance Solution Company. During this period, he focused on strengthening key product lines, maintaining competitiveness in challenging market conditions and developing new growth areas, including subscription services, online channels and B2B solutions such as built-in appliances and components.
