Indonesia: In Jakarta’s Kuningan Central Business District, a Korean-Indonesian partnership is set to deliver Indonesia’s first AI-ready hyperscale data center backed by a USD 300 million investment. Developed through a 50:50 joint venture between LG CNS and PT SMPlus Digital Investment, a subsidiary of Sinar Mas Group, the new entity LG Sinar Mas will design, build, and operate the facility. Spanning an 8,500 square meter site, the project will feature advanced liquid cooling, power redundancy, seismic isolation, and smart battery storage tailored to regional conditions. The center will launch with an initial IT capacity of 18 megawatts, with construction beginning in Q1 2025, the first phase operational by mid-2026, and full completion by early 2027.
The data center targets large enterprises, particularly in banking, alongside Sinar Mas and Korean companies, supporting Indonesia’s IT services market projected to surpass USD 7 billion by 2027. LG is deploying its full “One LG Solution” ecosystem, with LG CNS overseeing digital operations and cooling optimization, LG Electronics providing energy-efficient systems and security infrastructure, and LG Energy Solution supplying lithium-ion battery stacks and backup systems. Positioned as a strategic step into Southeast Asia’s AI backbone, the project marks LG CNS’s entry into regional hyperscale infrastructure while strengthening Indonesia’s digital transformation and enterprise computing capacity.
