Kyungdong Navien Broadens Heat Pump Portfolio with New Air-Source Water Heater

South Korea: Kyungdong Navien has introduced a new air-source water heater in South Korea, combining heat pump technology with an electric heater to provide stable hot water supply while improving energy efficiency. Tests of a North American model with the same specifications recorded around 60% higher cumulative hot water supply over four hours and more than four times higher energy efficiency than conventional storage-type electric water heaters, with annual operating cost savings of about KRW 500,000 (approximately USD 340). The product targets high hot water-use commercial facilities, including restaurants, cafes, pensions, hair salons, sports facilities and offices, and offers five operating modes, app-based controls, Legionella prevention, freeze protection and optional leak detection. The launch follows the opening of Kyungdong Navien’s Heating Electrification Centre in Jeju on May 5 and the establishment of domestic heat pump production at its Pyeongtaek plant.
