Kelvion Shuts Down 67-Year-Old Fareham Factory, Ending UK Refrigeration Production

UK: Kelvion, a manufacturer of heat exchangers, has announced it will cease production at its UK factory in Fareham, ending 67 years of refrigeration manufacturing at the site. Production will be consolidated at Kelvion’s facility in Świebodzice, Poland, with the transition set to be completed by February 2025.

Despite the manufacturing shift, Kelvion plans to maintain a presence in Fareham for research, development, and sales activities. In a statement, the company explained that the decision followed extensive planning and consultation. Kelvion also emphasized its commitment to ensuring an orderly relocation while minimizing the impact on employees, customers, suppliers, and public authorities. The latest financial records show Kelvion Ltd incurred a loss of $2,685 on a turnover of $50 million for the year ending in 2022.
