Innovative HVAC Partnership Aims for Net Zero Emissions at Chester Zoo

UK: Mitsubishi Electric has partnered with Chester Zoo to provide heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment aimed at enhancing the zoo's sustainability efforts. This collaboration will help maintain optimal temperatures for animals, such as the critically endangered eastern black rhinos, while reducing carbon emissions across the 128-acre site. The partnership follows successful projects using Mitsubishi's air-source heat pumps and HVAC systems in the zoo's conference venue and rhino habitat. Chester Zoo, committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2030 for scope 1 and 2, and by 2050 for scope 3, views this collaboration as a vital step in addressing global biodiversity and climate challenges. Mitsubishi Electric's expertise will support the zoo's diverse environmental needs, contributing to its goal of sustainability while inspiring others to take similar actions.
