NEW ZEALAND: Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai E&C) announced on the 18th that it has signed an agreement with New Zealand investment operator HND TS (HND) and local builder CMP Construction (CMP) to participate in a premium housing development project. The signing took place at Hyundai E&C’s headquarters in Gye-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The project will deliver a total of 219 residences near Takapuna Beach in northeastern Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. Designed with three basement levels and up to 10 above-ground floors, the development will be led and financed by HND Holdings. With a focus on blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings, the project emphasizes meticulous planning in both architectural design and landscaping to create a high-end residential community.
Hyundai E&C is participating through an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) agreement, a contract structure that enables the contractor to engage from the design stage to optimize project plans, timelines, and costs. As this method prioritizes technical competitiveness, the builder’s expertise is critical to the project’s success.
The company plans to showcase a range of advanced “K-housing” solutions tailored to the local market, including community facilities, solar power systems, and electric vehicle charging stations. While Hyundai E&C previously developed 1,000 Hillstate-branded apartments and single-family housing complexes in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2013, this marks its first overseas luxury residential project.
