Hungary: Hungary's construction regulations are undergoing significant changes with the introduction of Act C of 2023 on Hungarian Architecture, which took effect on 1 October 2024. A new government decree on urban planning and building requirements, set to be enforced from January 2025, will work alongside existing regulations until mid-2027. The updated framework focuses on sustainability, mandating green spaces between construction zones and restricting new developments on agricultural and forestry lands unless equivalent green areas are designated elsewhere.
Additionally, a "green certificate" will be introduced to assess ecological performance, supplementing traditional energy efficiency ratings. These regulations are expected to influence urban development, imposing new requirements on property developers while emphasizing environmental considerations.
