Slovakia: Hoval, based in Liechtenstein, has inaugurated its new ePlant in Istebné, located in the Orava region of Slovakia. The site is the company’s largest production facility and is designed for an annual output of up to 32,000 heat pumps. The total investment amounts to more than EUR 53 million in industrial production and nearly EUR 600,000 in the technology centre. In 2023, regional investment aid of EUR 8 million was approved in the form of income tax relief to support the project.
The expansion is driven by rising demand for heat pumps, with Hoval increasing its production capacity through new facilities. The new production hall incorporates Green Factory principles, including a 400 kWp photovoltaic system, energy recovery using Hoval plate heat exchangers, green roofs and walls, rainwater harvesting, and a smart building system. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Saková, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanár, and Liechtenstein’s Minister of Economy Hubert Büchel.
