Hornbach Plans Expansion into Serbia

Serbia: The German DIY chain HORNBACH Holding AG & Co. KGaA is advancing its international growth strategy by preparing to enter the Serbian market, signalling further expansion into Southeast Europe. The company, already present in eight European countries, has indicated at its annual press conference that it expects to announce a new country entry “relatively soon”.  

The company has just reaffirmed it is continuing to invest in new stores, digitalisation of services and refurbishment of existing sites across its footprint.  With Serbia’s improving retail infrastructure and growing consumer demand for home improvement goods, Hornbach sees an attractive opportunity. While the logistics and regulatory environment in the Balkans still pose challenges.
