UK: Hive has announced that leading tech giant Samsung has joined its Works with Hive ecosystem. Starting today, owners of Samsung Wi-Fi-enabled heat pumps can control their devices and access performance insights directly through the Hive App, alongside other Hive-compatible products.

New data from Hive shows a growing interest in heat pump technology among UK homeowners. The number of consumers using the UK Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), which offers grants of up to £7,500 (US$10168) for heat pump installations, has doubled in 2025 compared to 2024. Hive, a leader in eco-technology and part of Centrica, attributes this increase to rising awareness of heat pump benefits and greater confidence in their suitability for UK homes.

Recent regulatory changes in England have further boosted adoption. The relaxation of the one-metre boundary rule for air source heat pumps means installations can now take place closer to property lines without planning permission, making low-carbon heating more accessible to a wider range of households. Hive reports an 87% increase in heat pump enquiries this year compared to 2024, a surge that has exceeded expectations.
