Heibad Files for Insolvency Amid Restructuring Efforts

Germany: Heibad Badmöbel Vertriebs GmbH has filed for insolvency under self-administration at the Nuremberg District Court, with proceedings initiated on 5 May 2025. Peter Roeger of Pluta Rechtsanwalts GmbH has been appointed provisional insolvency administrator. Despite financial challenges, the company, based in Heideck in the Franconian Lake District, continues its operations without interruption. Approximately 120 employees will receive insolvency benefits for April to June, with arrangements underway to ensure timely payments. The Heideck site, featuring around 10,000 square metres of production space, will remain operational, continuing to manufacture bathroom furniture under the “Made in Germany” label. The management is seeking investors through a structured merger and acquisition process to support the company’s long-term stability.

Other companies are also facing financial difficulties. Nolte furniture store has declared insolvency and is ceasing operations, resulting in job losses for its employees. A German luxury carmaker and a suitcase manufacturer are also encountering insolvency proceedings, with the latter pursuing restructuring measures to facilitate realignment. Heibad’s management aims to use the current situation to reposition the company, stabilise operations, preserve jobs, and secure its location amid a challenging market environment.
