Germany: Heibad Badmöbel Vertriebs GmbH, a German manufacturer of bathroom furniture currently undergoing insolvency proceedings, has been acquired by the Config I/O Brands Group. The acquisition ensures continued operations at Heibad’s site in Heideck, Middle Franconia, and secures more than 100 jobs. Heibad will operate as an independent entity within the new ownership structure. Martin Uhlig will remain as Managing Director, while Andreas Schmidpeter will step down from his role. The acquisition process was overseen by attorney Peter Roeger of Pluta Rechtsanwalts GmbH.
The Config I/O Brands Group, headquartered in Cologne, operates internationally with a workforce of 250. The group has stated it will maintain Heibad’s brand, management, and existing three-tier retail system. Plans are in place to improve Heibad’s competitiveness through increased digitalisation in production. Operations will continue at the 10,000 square metre facility near Nuremberg, supported by a full order book. The management team remains largely unchanged, with the addition of Sales Manager Thomas Kerling. According to Uhlig, the partnership aligns with Heibad’s existing approach to quality and local manufacturing.
