Heat Pump Projects In $46m DOE Funding Round

USA: The 29 projects chosen aim to create cutting-edge building technologies and retrofit practices that promote healthier communities and homes while minimising energy waste.

The funding programme for Buildings Energy Efficiency Frontiers and Innovation Technologies (BENEFIT) aims to create low-cost strategies for successfully electrifying buildings across the country while simultaneously enhancing their energy effectiveness and demand adaptability. More than half of the 29 projects chosen, according to the DOE, will work to improve space cooling and water heating, which together consume just over half of all the energy used in American homes. The ongoing developments will advance various elements that affect residential and commercial structures.
