Haier Smart Home Plans USD350 Million AC Manufacturing Base in China

China: Haier Smart Home, one of China's top three air conditioner sellers, announced plans to invest CNY2.5 billion (USD350 million) to build a smart manufacturing base for air conditioners in Qingdao, Shandong province. The new factory will produce seven types of air conditioners, including wall-mounted models, and will feature an R&D center, experiment center, and logistics hub. The facility is expected to increase output by five million units annually, with products mainly targeted at China's northern and northeastern regions, as well as international markets. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by September 2026, and the second phase by December 2027.
