USA: With accelerating electrification and increasingly stringent building performance standards, ground-source heat pumps (GSHPs) are gaining renewed traction across the plumbing and mechanical sectors. Once considered a niche technology, these systems are now being actively evaluated for both residential and commercial applications where energy efficiency, lifecycle cost optimization, and sustainability objectives align.
As highlighted by the U.S. Department of Energy, geothermal heat pumps rank among the most efficient HVAC solutions available, with the potential to substantially lower building energy consumption. This high efficiency, combined with financial incentives under the Inflation Reduction Act, is supporting wider adoption as building owners increasingly seek long-term, cost-resilient solutions amid rising energy prices.
