FRANCE: In an effort to curb public spending, the government is set to suspend the Ma Prime Rénov' scheme starting July, as reported by Le Parisien. This key renovation aid has helped thousands of households significantly cut their energy bills. The suspension is expected to remain in effect until the end of 2025. According to a source familiar with the matter, “The funds allocated for all of 2025 have already been almost entirely exhausted.” In other words, the government’s budget for supporting energy efficiency upgrades in homes has run dry. Moreover, the state's contribution to the scheme has been steadily declining in recent months. Last year alone, the allocated budget was slashed by over two billion euros, from an initial €4.5 billion (US$ 5.1 billion) to just €2.3 billion (US$ 2.6 billion).
