India: Geberit India has commenced production at its newly inaugurated PE piping plant and testing facility in Pune, marking a significant step in strengthening its manufacturing footprint in the country. The facility, inaugurated on April 1, 2026, reflects a strategic investment to enhance local production capabilities and respond more effectively to the growing demand for high-quality piping systems in India. The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior leadership, including Christian Buhl, Martin Ziegler, Robert Lernbecher, Gorika Shyam, and Ravi Kumar.
The newly operational plant features a fully automated production line for polyethylene (PE) pipes, complemented by an advanced in-house testing facility, enabling consistent product quality, faster delivery timelines, and improved operational flexibility. This integrated setup is expected to reduce lead times and enhance supply chain efficiency for projects across India, while supporting a wide range of applications aligned with both domestic and global performance standards. The facility also strengthens quality assurance through rigorous evaluation of materials and finished products under one roof, allowing quicker response to project-specific needs. This move aligns with Geberit’s broader strategy to expand in key growth markets through localized manufacturing, as India’s construction and infrastructure sectors continue to drive demand for high-performance plumbing systems. Company officials emphasized that the Pune facility will support tailored solutions for local requirements while maintaining global standards and advancing its “Made in India” production approach for long-term growth.
