EDF and Ideal Heating Launch Zero Standing Charge Heat Pump Tariff

UK: EDF and Ideal Heating have partnered to introduce a new heat pump tariff that promises customers guaranteed annual savings of at least £360 (US$ 450), along with no standing charge, discounted installation, and access to flexible off-peak electricity rates—all aimed at cutting energy costs and carbon emissions throughout the year.

Available exclusively to customers who install an Ideal Heating air source heat pump through EDF Heat Pumps, the new one-year ‘Heat Pump and Save Tracker’ tariff offers daily savings with no exit fees. It includes six hours of discounted zero-carbon electricity each day, with off-peak rates during 4am–7am and 1pm–4pm, enabling even greater savings for customers who shift usage to these time slots.

To encourage early adoption, EDF is offering a £500 (US$ 638) installation discount to the first 50 customers who place a deposit before 30 September 2025 and complete installation by 31 December 2025. After applying the Boiler Upgrade Scheme Grant, system prices start from just £3,180 (US$ 4060), with finance options available to spread the cost.

Additionally, EDF’s referral program provides £250 (US$ 319) cashbacks to existing customers and a £250 (US$ 319) discount for each friend referred. Backing the initiative, EDF’s ‘Heat Pump Promise’ ensures only systems that are suitable for the home will be installed—with a full refund offered if customers are not satisfied with the system’s performance.
