Moldova: Romanian DIY retailer Dedeman has announced its decision to expand operations into neighbouring Moldova following a meeting between its management, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, and other government representatives in Chișinău. The company stated that this step marks its entry into the Moldovan market.
“The Republic of Moldova is a market with real development potential, which is showing that it is ready to become part of the European Union. This investment reflects our confidence in the future, stability and prospects of the local economy, but also our desire to contribute to the development of the community with the experience and resources we have gained in Romania,” said Dragoș Pavăl, President of Dedeman. Dedeman’s parent company, Pavăl Holding, made its first foreign investments in the tourism sector in 2023, with further plans outlined for 2025.
