Dama Solar Project Secures EUR 561 Million Financing in Romania
Romania: Rezolv Energy has secured financing of up to EUR 561 million for the construction of the 1.3 GW Dama Solar project in Romania. Covering more than 1,000 hectares, the project is expected to generate around 1,800 GWh of electricity annually and enter commercial operation in the second half of 2028. Construction is expected to employ around 1,500 people at its peak, while the project will also include an 82-hectare nature reserve.
The financing was arranged with the European Investment Bank as the main lender and includes commitments from 14 lenders, comprising commercial banks and development finance institutions. The project is supported by two Contracts for Difference covering 520 MW of capacity and a corporate Power Purchase Agreement. Rezolv Energy said the financing will allow the project to proceed to construction, with engineering, procurement and construction partners expected to be confirmed shortly.
