Daikin to Introduce CO₂ VRV Air Conditioning Range

UK: Daikin is set to launch a new VRV air conditioning system using R744 (CO₂) refrigerant in the UK and European markets in April 2025.  The initiative aligns with the company's strategy to lower the carbon footprint of its systems in response to evolving environmental legislation. The R744 refrigerant, classified as non-flammable with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1, is positioned as an eco-friendly alternative for certain applications.

Despite the introduction of the R744 range, Daikin anticipates its R32 VRV5 solutions will remain the preferred choice for most commercial and industrial uses. The company also plans to provide education and training to its network to facilitate the adoption of the new technology and build expertise for future CO₂-based solutions.
