Daikin New Zealand To Open Christchurch Warehouse and Distribution Centre

New Zealand: Daikin New Zealand is nearing completion of its second purpose-built facility in the country, with the new Daikin Park Christchurch warehouse and distribution centre intended to meet customer demand across the South Island. The facility will consolidate two existing Christchurch locations on a 7,870 square metre site in Hornby and will become a dedicated Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning warehouse in the South Island. Completion is scheduled for October.
The development is targeting a 5 Green Star rating and a 5-star NABERS rating, in line with Daikin Global’s objective of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. According to the company, the project aligns with its global sustainability charter, which requires its facilities to meet accredited sustainability standards. Managing Director Ryuta Hayashibara stated that the Christchurch facility is intended to support operations in New Zealand, including response times and customer service delivery.
