Daikin Lists 65 Air-To-Air Heat Pump Combinations on UK MCS Directory
United Kingdom: Daikin has become the first successful applicant to have multi-split air-to-air heat pump products listed on the MCS Product Directory through the Eurovent Certification route. A total of 65 residential Multi-split and Multi+ combinations have been listed. The systems pair a single outdoor unit with two to five wall-mounted indoor units, with the certified products including Daikin’s Perfera indoor unit.
The listing comprises 45 multi-split combinations and 20 Multi+ combinations. The Multi+ systems can provide heating, cooling and hot water by connecting up to four indoor units and a domestic hot water tank to one outdoor unit. The MCS listing is a step towards air-to-air heat pumps becoming eligible for government support under schemes including the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Eurovent Certification transferred existing Eurovent-certified product data into the MCS system, meaning additional product testing was not required. The certification body said the approach can reduce duplication, time and costs while providing independent verification of performance data. Matthew Nudd, UK Partnership Manager at Eurovent Certification, said: “The UK market increasingly recognises that independent certification is key to building confidence in low-carbon technologies,” stated Eurovent Certification UK partnership manager Matthew Nudd. “Daikin becoming MCS certified for its air-to-air product range through Eurovent Certification is a significant milestone for both the manufacturer and the wider industry.”
