Daikin Expands in Cambodia with State-of-the-Art Facility in Phnom Penh
Cambodia: Daikin Airconditioning (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. (DAC) has inaugurated its new sales and service office in Phnom Penh, emphasizing its commitment to providing advanced air-conditioning solutions and fostering local talent. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, and Japanese Ambassador Atsushi Ueno.
The Minister praised Daikin for its investment in job creation and technical training, emphasizing its potential role in Cambodia’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. "With Japan’s high-quality standards, Daikin can set the benchmark for energy-efficient products in Cambodia," he said.
Operating since January 2024, DAC focuses on pre-sales, design, sales, and after-sales service for air conditioning systems. Toshiyuki Tanaka, Managing Director of DAC, described the new facility as reflecting the company’s philosophy of "Perfecting the Air" to enhance quality of life in Cambodia through reliable and efficient air solutions.
Daikin has demonstrated its dedication to local empowerment, hiring over 95% of its 114 staff members locally, including a Cambodian board member. Training initiatives have benefited over 400 participants, including installers and university students. The company also engages in CSR efforts, donating essential materials to schools and hospitals.
