Daikin Considers Export Strategy Shift Amid Tariff Concerns
Mexico: Daikin Industries is evaluating a shift in export destinations for its Mexico-made products following a proposal by US President-elect Donald Trump to impose a 25% tariff on imports from Mexico. Daikin Chairman and CEO Togawa Masanori remarked that "he wasn't surprised by Trump's statement because he had previously vowed to impose new import levies." He further stated that "one option the company has in response is to switch its production lines to focus on South American markets instead."
