Saudi Arabia: Daikin has begun construction of a new manufacturing facility in Jeddah, supported by its long-term partner and the Chairman of Daikin Saudi Arabia, Tariq Almutlaq. The groundbreaking took place on 26 November, and the plant will focus on the local production of chillers and hydronic heat pumps to serve customers in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. The development follows Daikin’s earlier investment in 2022 in a facility at Sudair Industrial City near Riyadh, which contributed to technology transfer, local employment and energy-efficiency initiatives in the Kingdom.
The Jeddah facility will operate under the Production of Daikin System (DPS), the company’s global standard for manufacturing processes. DPS incorporates lean production, quality management and continuous improvement practices. The new plant will also include advanced laboratories and test benches for factory acceptance testing to verify product performance before dispatch.
