Cyprus Launches New Grant Scheme for Solar Water Heating Systems

Cyprus: The Cabinet of Cyprus has approved a new grant scheme valued at EUR 1 million to support households in installing or replacing solar water heating systems. The initiative aims to improve energy efficiency in residential buildings across the country. Applications for the scheme will be accepted electronically until 20 December 2025 or until 2,000 applications are received, whichever comes first.
Grant amounts will differ based on household categories. General households are eligible for EUR 500 per residence, while properties in mountainous and disadvantaged areas may receive up to EUR 900. Vulnerable households will qualify for the maximum grant of EUR 900 regardless of location. The scheme covers full system installations or replacements, including solar panels and hot water cylinders, using approved equipment that meets minimum energy performance standards. All installations must be carried out by certified professionals listed in the Participating Installers Register to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
