USA: In the United States, the Q2 2026 Houzz Pro Industry Barometer shows cautious optimism after a weak first quarter. The Expected Business Activity Indicator for construction rose to 58 from 55, driven by new committed projects increasing to 59. Design-build firms showed stronger confidence at 66, while build-only remodelers fell to 50. However, recent activity declined to 48, and project backlogs fell to 5.6 weeks from 6.4 a year earlier. In the design sector, expectations eased slightly to 60, with architects at 58 and interior designers stronger at 65. Firms continue to face rising material costs, labour shortages and client delays, but are adapting through pricing strategies, training and improved client engagement.
