CONACEPE and SOLARMX Join Forces to Boost Solar Water Heater Adoption in Mexico

Mexico: Mexico’s CONACEPE Partners with SOLARMX to Promote Solar Water Heating Nationwide as Mexico’s National Energy and Petrochemical Council (CONACEPE) signed a commercial and environmental partnership with SOLARMX, a Mexican manufacturer of certified solar water heaters, to promote energy efficiency, reduce fossil fuel use and cut emissions across the country. Under the agreement, the two organizations will work to accelerate adoption of solar thermal technology in residential, commercial and industrial sectors, with a focus on reducing reliance on liquefied petroleum (LP) gas. CONACEPE said the initiative supports household-level energy transition by lowering energy costs while delivering environmental and economic benefits. Currently, around 10% of Mexican households, or about 3.5 million homes, use solar water heaters, and Mexico also hosts more than 200 large-scale industrial solar thermal systems across sectors including pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and automotive manufacturing. SOLARMX, a 100% Mexican company, produces locally manufactured and certified solar water heaters, reinforcing domestic renewable technology development and Mexico’s broader energy transition goals.
