Bosch Postpones Construction of Planned Heat Pump Factory in Poland

Poland: Bosch has announced the suspension of its planned heat pump manufacturing facility in Dobromierz, Lower Silesia, citing slower-than-expected growth in European demand for heat pumps and increasing political and economic uncertainty across the region. The factory, originally intended to expand Bosch’s existing European heat pump production network, which includes facilities in Portugal, Germany and Sweden, was expected to begin operations between late 2025 and early 2026. The company stated that while heat pump technology remains central to achieving European climate objectives, current market conditions have led to the postponement of construction.

Bosch had previously revealed plans to invest in the Dobromierz facility in 2023, with an expected creation of around 500 jobs by 2027. The company expressed confidence that demand for heat pumps would strengthen in the long term as climate targets drive the transition to sustainable heating solutions. Once the market stabilises, Bosch indicated it will reassess its investment plans for the Polish plant.
