USA: Bed Bath & Beyond has signed a letter of intent to acquire F9 Brands Inc., the parent company of Lumber Liquidators, for approximately $150 million. The transaction covers F9 Brands’ equity interests and substantially all of its assets, including Cabinets To Go, Gracious Home / Thos. Baker, and Southwind Building Products.
The proposed acquisition follows Bed Bath & Beyond’s recent $150 million purchase of The Container Store and further expands its presence in the home improvement and home services segment. The company expects to achieve significant synergies between Lumber Liquidators and The Container Store’s Elfa brand, which provides customisable closet systems, shelving, and space-optimisation solutions. Additional opportunities are expected through Closet Works, Bed Bath & Beyond’s Chicago-based provider of custom closets and organisers.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Bed Bath & Beyond’s home services platform by combining complementary brands, product offerings, and custom home organisation capabilities.
