Italy: Ariston Group has entered into a ten-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Shell Energy Italia to supply its Italian facilities with renewable electricity. The agreement, effective from August 2025, will provide 8 GWh of EU-certified renewable energy annually from a solar-powered plant in Italy. The initiative is aligned with Ariston Group’s “Road to 100” decarbonisation strategy, which sets 2030 targets including a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and more than 50% reduction in Scope 3 emissions per million-euro value added. These targets have been validated by the Science Based Target initiative.
The group’s strategy emphasises increasing renewable energy procurement through Energy Attribute Certificates, alongside transition measures highlighted in its 2024 Sustainability Statement. The new PPA follows similar renewable energy initiatives launched in China and Mexico earlier in 2024. Ariston Group stated that the agreement strengthens its renewable sourcing portfolio, while Shell Energy Italia confirmed that it aims to support industrial partners in their energy transition through long-term renewable energy supply arrangements.
