USA: The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) has announced a public review period, approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), for ACCA 5 QI – HVAC Quality Installation Specification to be recognized as a new American National Standard.
The 45-day public review began on October 10, with comments accepted until November 24, 2025. The proposed standard remains identical to ANSI/ACCA 5 QI – 2015, with the goal of regaining its ANSI designation as a new standard. ACCA 5 QI outlines the minimum requirements for the proper design, installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems in residential and light commercial settings. Developed through collaboration among a wide range of industry stakeholders, the standard defines consensus-based quality installation criteria, acceptable verification methods, and standardized documentation procedures to ensure compliance and promote consistent, high-quality HVAC practices.
